Christine Monier nominated Western Canada Regional Leader
Posted 2020-02-04
In December, I was delighted to be with the L’Arche Western Canada Regional Assembly as they enthusiastically confirmed the new Western Canada Regional Mandate. The Mandate Process incorporated and built upon the Impactand Strategic Clarity process that we have collectively been engaged with. The resulting Mandate and corresponding Roadmap for Impact supported the region to name with precision, confidence and certainty the skills, attributes and experience the person named to lead the region in this mandate should demonstrate.
A Selection Committee was named, and after a thorough process, unanimously recommended that Christine Monier be offered the role of Western Canada Regional Leader. I concurred with this recommendation and am delighted to announce that Christine has accepted this role.
Christine is currently the Community Leader of L’Arche Comox Valley, she has carried this role for the past 10 years. Christine has over 30 years L’Arche experience in four different communities (two in Canada, two in France). She is passionate about the vision and mission of L’Arche as well as developing resilient and sustainable models of living L’Arche in a changing environment.
The L’Arche Western Canada Region Mandate is a mandate for change and for increased harmonization across all of L’Arche in Canada. The depth and breadth of Christine’s skills and experiences in coaching, mentoring and leading community processes to implement action plans designed to achieve intended impact have positioned her well to lead the region in strengthening relationships and processes, supporting more effective inclusion of core members, and engaging strategies that are adaptable and reflective of the Western Canada Region and local contexts.
We expect that Christine will assume this role early this springbut are still working to finalize the transition plan. Over the coming few weeks members of the L’Arche Canada Team including Marni Davis (current Western Canada Regional Leader), Christine, and Linda Filjak (who as you know will continue to serve as the Vice Regional Leader), will continue to refine and communicate the transition plan and keep you informed.
Kind regards,
Louis Pilotte
National Leader
